\nThe general rule is<\/strong>:
\n\uf0b7 Excision of the tumor + Radiation therapy = Mastectomy
\n\uf0b7 Sentinel node biopsy (node sample) or complete excision of the lymph
\nnodes.

1- Excision of the tumor only (Lumpectomy).<\/span><\/strong>
\n2- Excision of the tumor and lymph node sample or complete nodes excision.<\/span><\/strong>
\n3- Mastectomy only.<\/span><\/strong>
\n4- Mastectomy and lymph node sample or complete nodes excision.<\/span><\/strong>
\n5- Mastectomy and immediate Breast Reconstruction.<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

6- Delayed Breast reconstruction<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\uf076 Non-invasive Breast cancer (DCIS):<\/strong> do not, usually, warrant Lymph nodes<\/span>
\nassessment.<\/span>
\n\uf076 Invasive Breast Cancer:<\/strong> warrants assessment of the lymph nodes.<\/span>
\n\uf076 The general rule is to preserve the breast except certain situations:<\/strong><\/span>
\n– Large tumor size in relation to the breast size.<\/span>
\n– Inflammatory Breast Cancer.<\/span>
\n– Recurrent Breast Cancer.<\/span>
\n– ? Patients younger than 30, rather have Mastectomy.<\/span>
\n– Patients wish<\/span><\/p>\n

• \uf076 The rule in dealing with the Lymph nodes is:<\/strong> Sentinel node biopsy<\/span>
  \n(assessment of the first node only) with radiotherapy to, or excision of<\/span>
  \nthe rest of the node if it proves to be positive.<\/span>
  \n\uf076 Few cases warrant full excision of the lymph nodes from outset.<\/strong><\/span>
  \n\uf076 Immediate Breast Reconstruction<\/strong> should be offered to most patients,<\/span>
