Sentinel Node Biopsy is a technique that has been established as the gold standard in axillary nodes surgery for over 20 years.
By identifying the Sentinel node/ portal (the first node) the surgeon detects if there is nodal involvement or not.
70% of cases, the nodes prove negative therefor we don`t need further nodal surgery. So we save these 70% of patients from unnecessary drains, pain, hospital stay, infection and long term complications like arm awelling.
